Workers compensation provides replacement income, medical expenses, and vocational rehabilitation benefits for those employees who are hurt on the job.

Some worker’s compensation laws can also protect the employer and fellow workers by limiting the amount of damages an injured employee can recover and reducing the need for extensive litigation.

Usually, workers compensation will pay two-thirds of the employee’s salary while they are injured. If the injury is serious enough, they may be eligible for life-long benefits or a lump sum payment if they are permanently hurt or disabled while on the job.

Employers with multiple employees must get workers comp and in many instances will be required by federal law to carry it.  You will find that getting business insurance or even an office lease without workers comp is impossible.

Workers comp protects everyone, the employer, the employee and the business.  For more information on workers comp, please give us a call and we’ll be glad to explain the options.
